Welcome to the shiur in our Chayei Moharan series, hosted by Yossi Glogauer!
In this shiur we cover Chayei Moharan (125–126), where Rabbeinu stays silent about the Barditchev “zaken” until he has clarity — showing us the holiness of patience. We go through the three fixed times he set for his followers and why Rosh Hashanah stood above them all — kol inyanenu hu Rosh Hashanah.

We also talk about Uman today: Mohorosh’s “laundry” mashal, how to answer questions about women, sins, or distractions, and what it means to connect to Rosh Hashanah with Rabbeinu even if you can’t physically go. We finish the year with longing for the tzaddik, a blessing for the new year, and the traditional greeting of ksiva v’chasima tova.

While leading tzaddikim rushed to defend him, Rabbeinu remained silent, embodying his own teaching that peace and teshuvah are born through humility, not conflict.
Set against the backdrop of a wedding and culminating in his arrival in Breslov during Elul, this chapter shows how even rejection and public shame can become part of a higher ascent.
We also explore how Reb Nosson only connected with Rebbe Nachman after this episode — reminding us that sometimes our true place, our true connections, and our greatest growth come only after the fire.
